Dealing with insubordinate employees is tricky. However sometimes this is not the case and such language affects the company and quality of customer service. A foolproof termination notice is one of the most important documents of the firing procedure. It is a private event between an employer and a jobholder. It's better to negotiate with the employee later (and sue when necessary) for the disputed money. If the worker engaged in misbehavior, then briefly discuss the investigative process you followed to prove it. It is always best to leave a laid off employee with their dignity. If the worker is in violation of any of the infractions that result in lay off, you're dealing with separation for cause.
